Version: 1.0
Quick summary
- We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
- The platform is designed to support keyboard, screen reader, and responsive access.
- We regularly test accessibility and fix issues we find.
- If you need content in another format, contact us and we will do our best to help.
- Accessibility requests are answered within five working days where possible.
Our commitment
We want inyourroots® to be usable for as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, access needs, and different ways of processing information. We are building the platform to be inclusive, calm, and practical, and we are committed to improving accessibility over time.
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
We work to make our website and platform:
- Perceivable (you can see/hear the content).
- Operable (you can use it with different inputs, including keyboard).
- Understandable (clear language and predictable interactions).
- Robust (works with assistive technologies).
What we are doing to support accessibility
We aim to:
- Provide text alternatives for non-text content (like images and icons).
- Use clear structure with headings and landmarks.
- Support full keyboard navigation and a predictable focus order.
- Maintain sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
- Make forms properly labelled, with clear error messages.
- Keep the experience responsive across devices and assistive technologies.
How we test and improve
To help us check accessibility, we:
- Use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes where needed.
- Design with responsive layouts and scalable text.
- Test with keyboard navigation and screen readers (for example NVDA and VoiceOver).
- Provide captions, subtitles, or transcripts for video and audio content where we publish it.
- Run periodic accessibility checks and address issues we find.
Known limitations
We are still improving, and some parts may not be fully accessible yet. For example:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible.
- Third-party tools or embedded content may not fully comply with WCAG standards.
- Some interactive elements (such as drag-and-drop features) can be harder to use with assistive technology.
If you come across something that is not working for you, please tell us. It genuinely helps.
Need information in a different format?
If you need content in a different format (for example: larger text, simpler wording, or an alternative way to access something), contact us and we will do our best to help.
