User-Generated Content
You keep ownership of the Content you submit. To run the Services, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and share your Content only as needed to operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
This does not mean we own your Content. It allows us to show it back to you and run the platform.
You promise that:
- You have the rights needed to submit the Content.
- Your Content does not infringe someone else's rights.
Feedback
If you share feedback (for example, suggestions or ideas), you agree we can use it to improve inyourroots® without paying you. This helps us keep building and improving the platform.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Services (including branding, text, graphics, logos, software, databases, and underlying systems) are owned by or licensed to us.
You may use the Services for personal use and, where relevant, for your organization's internal use if you are using employer features.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or exploit any part of the Services unless we have given written permission. Some employer features may have additional terms shown at the point of use.
Safeguarding and Reporting
Keeping young people safe matters to us.
Our safeguarding policy forms part of these Terms and explains how we handle concerns. You can review it athttps://inyourroots.com/safeguarding-policy/.
How to report concerns
If you see something worrying, unsafe, or inappropriate, report it as soon as possible by emailingsupport@inyourroots.com.
Use of AI and Automated Decision-Making
Some parts of the Services use automated tools (including AI) to generate results or recommendations. We work hard to make outputs helpful, fair, and explainable, but we cannot guarantee every output is accurate, complete, or right for your situation. Use your judgement and, where helpful, talk with a trusted adult, educator, or professional.
Third-Party Links and Content
The Services may link to third-party websites or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. If you choose to access them, you do so at your own risk.
Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and conditions.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses that result from your use of (or inability to use) the Services.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Indemnity
If you breach these Terms or misuse the Services and that causes us loss or a claim from someone else, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses (including legal fees).
Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Services if:
- You breach these Terms.
- We need to do so for legal or regulatory reasons.
- We need to protect the safety or integrity of the Services.
If access ends, your right to use the Services stops immediately. Sections that should logically continue (such as intellectual property and liability sections) remain in effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
How we notify you
We will post updated Terms on the website and change the Last Updated date. If changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, by email or a clear notice on the site). If you continue using the Services after updates, you agree to the updated Terms.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms.
